Kirk Farris

Since 1985, artist and local historian Kirk Farris has been working on his own to revitalize an historic area of downtown Houston. The focus of Art & Environmental Architecture is to create an abbreviated form of a botanical garden creating a lasting transformation of the McKee Street Bridge/James Bute Park/Frost Town Historic Site as a public sanctuary. This purpose includes conservancy of nature and history, maintenance of garden space, and a focus on educational programs serving to enhance peaceful contemplation and observation of a vibrant urban visitation area.

It is the object of learning, not only to satisfy the curiosity and perfect the spirits of ordinary men, but also to advance civilization.
