FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE What’s Your H.Q.? has been in development for ten months as HAM wrote and researched 3000 questions and perfected the layout for the game board map, question cards and box. The next step will be lining up corporate or foundation sponsorship to underwrite the production of the first run of the games. “In addition to the obvious educational benefits, we think playing What’s Your H.Q.? in teams will be a blast for longtime Houstonians. You’ll learn a lot, and it will most definitely bring back some great memories,” said HAM President, Mike Vance. Some of the production model games will be donated to area high schools as a tool to teach students about their city’s rich past. The rest will be available from HAM as a gift earned at a certain donation level. Houston Arts and Media continues to work on several other projects such as Neighborhood to Neighbor, an ongoing oral history gathering project that has already placed the stories of scores of Houstonians in the Houston Public Library’s Houston Metropolitan Research Center and Rice University’s Woodson research Center. Material from these interviews will also enhance the Houston Neighborhoods Series, more than a dozen volumes which will be published over the next several years. The first of HAM’s books will be Historic Schools of Harris County. Parties interested in supporting these efforts through donations or volunteerism should contact Houston Arts and Media via e-mail at info@houstonartsandmedia.org. About Houston Arts and Media: |
